    CAT 7a is expensive …
CAT 7a is expensive and rare to get/buy still.

But with the new prices on optical fibers I would just use it anyway.

    @Gradius0
    where …

    @Gradius0
    where do u buy a cat 7a?
and do u know the mbps or gbps speed of them??

    thankyou

melbourne might get it soon i hope…and dream lmao

call ur ISP get faster speed

if already fast enough.. make sure the phone cable plugged into ur modem from the wall is less then 2m

try use the blue cable (cat5 or cat6) for all ur connections.

you could also try (if u wanna spend)

u can get a electrician into the house and ask to put all cat 5 cables in the walls

and have a port built in ur gaming room.

    i hope i helped :D

  5. AnThOnYrox8 Says:

    y would u need …
y would u need fire-optic in ur area, the cable from ur isp is coaxial or dsl, “the fiber-optic router” will change the signal to light so it can be sent over FO, but u will also need a NIC capable of reciving FO

  6. capitalistpig1968 Says:

    how about a zfs …
how about a zfs home server in a 5 disk RAID-Z?

  7. ableblanca510 Says:

wat about if i just wanna play my 360 with no lag wat do i use

  8. eTristan1996 Says:

    Not everyone has …
Not everyone has fiber-optic in their area.

  9. lapulapu12345 Says:

    i recomend to use a …
i recomend to use a fiberoptic, a gigabit router,
and a gigabit NIC OR NETWORK CARD so that youre system runs in gigabit….. deal or no deal…:P

  10. Gradius0 Says:

    WRONG!

    Cat 6: …
    WRONG!

    Cat 6: 250MHz
    Cat 6a: 500MHz
    Cat 7: 600MHz
    Cat 7a: 1GHz (1000MHz)

  11. billw129 Says:

    Your a …
Your a idiot. Cat 6 runs at 350MHz

  12. derSchweiz Says:

    cat6 is supposed to …
cat6 is supposed to have more twists in the actual pairs inside the cable than cat 5e or 5. termination of cat 6 is a little more tricky

  13. JayzBeerz Says:

    Cat 6a, 7 and 7a …
Cat 6a, 7 and 7a are out now

  14. JayzBeerz Says:

    CAT 3, 3e, 5, 5e …
    CAT 3, 3e, 5, 5e and now 6

  15. Gr33nMamba Says:

    Imho Cat 6 is …
Imho Cat 6 is pointless for a home network or even a small business network.

The limiting bottle neck will allways be the Hard Disks and controllers.

I would rather invest in SAS drives than cables that are hardly going to be taken advantage of.

  17. ScottieDM Says:

    There will always …
There will always be network upgrades, and new premise cabling to go with that. Some wiseguy once suggested to me that I run low voltage conduit through the walls. That radically cuts the cost of rewiring everything.

Yesterday cat 5, today cat 6, tomorrow fiber optic? Don’t worry. Be happy.

And “realistic28″ is a certified noob if he thinks silver-satin phone line will reliably carry 10 base-T, let alone one of the Ethernet speeds invented in the last 15 years.

    it works fine
    it works fine

  19. sonidobarbanegra Says:

    No problem a cat5, …
No problem a cat5, or cat 6 have the same ends, the only difference betwen is that cat6 is made for faster speeds, longer runs and also better insullation. (recommended for commercial applications) so I dont see any problem if you change to cat6 cord.

  20. ROMEwolfboy357 Says:

    thanks mate, thats …
thanks mate, thats the info i was lookin for, for 30mins lol..

just to make sure.. If i connect a cat6 cable to my old 4port router(3yrs old maybe? i think its cat 5) and then run that to my ps3 witch is cat5e.. would it work? no issues?

  23. realistic28 Says:

    blah,blah,blah….. …
blah,blah,blah……..It’s how the Ethernet cable is wired by the pins. Go buy Ethernet connectors, the crimping tool and the 4 wire phone line. Regardless of wire does not matter as long the wire will insert into the fins of the connector. Ethernet cable is a rip off! Phone line much cheaper. Then Google the wire schematic for the cable you want to make. IE straight through (cat5) only uses pins 1,2,3 and 6. pins 4,5,7 and 8 are not used.

Ya by 1, but is …
Ya by 1, but is that really gonna make a difference? Now if you had 6 DOGS, then there would be a huge boost in…something or another.

  25. CRAKIZGOOD Says:

    u noobs

the difference between cat 5 and cat 6
