Where do I find cheap network switches?

I have a network of 4 PC’s which are all taking up the ports in my DSL router/Modem, I have 2 other PC’s I’d like to hook into it also. I had two DSL modems so I connected one modem to the other modem and configured it to find the WAN through the ethernet port rather than the DSL ATM port. It works for Internet connectivity, however, the PC’s on the second modem cannot share files, they can see each other when I search PC’s but they cannot share files. I only did this because I am low on cash, where can I find a really really cheap network switch? By cheap I mean $15 max, shipping included.

Your problem with file sharing is a subnet conflict.

If you want things to work, you need a network switch and connect all devices including the router to the switch.

Get good quality devices – don’t skimp on unrealisticly low priced hardware as it probably is unreliable and you will toss it and replace with workable stuff. YOu get what you pay for.
