    Lol this fool said RJ-6. Hellooo its RJ-45 connectors with CAT5E or CAT6 cables. CAT6 and CAT5E cables will produce the same result unless your running cable over long distances like 300+ feet.

    You can but you really aren’t supposed to because the devices under the switch will not receive IP addresses from it and aren’t protected by a firewall like in a router so I would just go for a router unless you already have one.

    Some routers cannot be a switch either. There are differents in the build. If your not sure then take it apart and see if there is three controllers near the ethernet ports that have a symbol {} <-like this with a coil symbol on it. If it does then that router can act like a switch.
