    Social networking …
Social networking has made me more confident in real life & it has taught me not to judge a person by what they look like. With some of my internet friends, I didn’t know what they looked like for months but it didn’t matter because I got to know them properly whereas in real life, people tend to avoid others because of what they look like, disregarding what a great person they might be.

I was normal up until 5-6th grade when I started playing online video games. (Runescape and Warcraft 3) I was pretty addicted to video games from grades 6-9, and became antisocial. I’m currently a junior in high school, and am trying to become social again, but I’m still an extreme introvert and shy.

I’m a teen, and the vast majority of my online social networking is with people I already know in ‘real life’.
I don’t know about it being caused be social networking — I’ve only been on Facebook for about a year and a half — but I have trouble interacting in person. I get into awkward silences a lot. I can interact fine if someone else starts a conversation going though.
I’m better at getting conversations going in IMs, because I have the internet to support me, and I can look things up :P
