Multi-Media and techonlogy have become prevalent in our society. How has technology like social networking sites like "facebook" affect communication with your family and friends? Has is been a hinderance or advantage to your life?

Both.

Hindrance:
No one seems to want to meet in person anymore to talk because there are things such as FB, Skype, MyYearbook, and things such as that.

Advantage:
Easy connection with people that you haven’t talked to in a while. You merely have to type in a person’s name and can typically find them on one of the social networking sites that you frequent, meaning that if you lose someone’s number or address, you can still keep in touch.

Im considering a networking degree. I have always used windows(vista and xp) and I can pick up on stuff pretty quick. However I only know the basics and the only pre-rec to the program is taking a computer basics class(cis105 i believe) people out there with the knowledge..Think ill be ok? Ill be getting the degree at paradise valley community college and then to Asu to finish the bachelors

They’ll teach you what you need to know.

If your only experience is with Windows you’re going to have a hard time since there is a LOT you’re going to have to learn. Of course any professional degree is going to be like that.

So, I work for an office and we are a "home office" with no real networking going on, we don’t use wireless internet, we hook it up with a cable and we all have different modems going on so we can’t network, we’re kinda behind times.

Anywho, we wanted to connect two computers to one printer. I heard using a hub would be a good idea but then I heard that it doesn’t work that way. Any ideas?

There is a switch designed for just such an application available at good computer stores. I used one for years quite successuflly.

I just want to create a social networking site, one where it is different than Twitter or Facebook. I just want to create one for my school, to help us connect more differently.

Where would I even begin?

You can start by reading up on HTML and such but it is very complicated to do that

I am doing a research paper on social networking and its NEGATIVE impact on our nation’s youth today. Does anyone have a good theory to "what if social networking sites never existed/happened"? It would be a great closing to my conclusion!

If you want it to be really dramatic you could talk about people that would still be alive if social networking sites didn’t exist due to online bullying. I’m sure you could find some stories on google.

I have networking links to agents in a few children talent agencies in NYC & I’m thinking about becoming a private manager so I can recruit some kids into modeling and perhaps make some profit. My only question is how to start.. I know I need a contract binding me to the children to have their parents sign but can I barrow one from the internet (edit it of course) or do I need to an entertainment lawyer to make me one? Please help!

If you want a contract that is sound and will stand up in court, then you need to go to a lawyer that specializes in entertainment law, and pay them to draw one up for you to your specifications. If you don’t know what you are doing you need a professional to do it for you, not a bunch of "yahoos" on a free advice site.
